Planting
Make sure you plant your Annuals in the proper location. Check to see if you purchased sunny, shady, or part-sun Annuals, and plant or place accordingly on your property. Sunny Annuals require 6+ hours of direct sun per day, Part Sun/Shade Annuals require 4-6 hours of direct sun per day, and Shade Annuals only need 4 or less hours of sun per day or early morning/late day sun.
Fertilizer
Osmocote Time Release Fertilizer is our choice for a go-to fertilizer for your Annuals. Use this in the soil when you plant them, or if they have already been planted, mix in the topsoil. We carry many sizes and varieties in our Garden Center.
Watering
Whether it is 4inch, 6inch, Annual Patio Pots, Tropicals, Vegetables and more – proper, timely watering is essential. Water your annuals in the morning when the top couple inches of soil is dry. This may be every day especially if they are in the sun and the temps are high.
Additional
Mulch is always a great option to retain moisture and suppress weeds in your Annual Garden Beds. Mickman Brothers carries bag mulch, bulk mulch, and a variety of chemical applications depending on your needs.
Weather
Keep an eye on the forecast, if the temperature dips to the frost or worse yet, freezing point, make sure to cover or bring in your annuals to keep them alive.
We hope you enjoy your Annuals and they bring a nice addition to your patio and gardens and thank you once again for choosing Mickman Brothers!
