Fundraising with Mickman Brothers
since: 2005
Amount
raised with annual Wreath Fundraiser:
About $1575
How does your Group use the funds raised by the Wreath Fundraiser?
This money allows us to do several
activities during the year including
the Pinewood Derby, a
canoeing/camping trip, USS Alabama
Overnight Trip, and also helps
purchase supplies and awards. This
year we will be using part of the
money for an overnight Zoo Snooze.
How do you motivate your members for the Wreath Fundraiser?
The Pack splits the profits with the
boys and they get half of their
profits directly into their scout
accounts that they can use to pay
for trips and events we do. This has
been the best motivator we have ever
had. Some boys have sold as many as
44 units in one year making $220.00
in profit, half of which they get to
use out of their accounts for scout
related activities.
Do you hold an Awards Ceremony for your Group?
Yes, we present the medals for 1st,
2nd, and 3rd place sales along with
Wal-mart gift cards at out Feb Blue
& Gold Banquet.
How
does your Group promote it's Wreath Fundraiser?:
The boys go door to door in
their neighborhoods as well as
contact relatives via
phone/internet to do the gift
product sales as well.
Please share any other 'Secrets of Success' or additional comments:
The out of town gift sales are
the ticket to even higher
profits. We do about 1/3 of our
sales through this method, and
it is the only fundraiser that I
have seen that allows out of
town relatives to actually help
out the boys with a purchase.
Also the motivation from the
scout accounts has really
helped.
